A new princess is coming.
Scheduled to debut in October 2019, the Sky Princess will be the sister ship to Royal Princess, Regal Princess and Majestic Princess. Princess Cruises announced Thursday the fourth Royal-class ship will embark on its first series of voyages in the Mediterranean.
The 143,700 ton, 3,660-passenger Sky Princess will feature signature elements that have become synonymous with the brand as part of the other Royal-class vessels. The new ship will include a central Piazza-style atrium, an entertainment venue, adults-only Sanctuary, Camp Discovery youth and teen centers, and several dining venues.
Dining venues include the Salty Dog Grill, Alfredo's Pizzeria, Vines Wine Bar, Chef's Table Lumiere and World Fresh Marketplace. The Sky Princess will also feature an outdoor movie theater and balconies for 80 percent of all staterooms.
As for the new vessel’s inaugural Mediterranean deployment in 2019, the Sky Princess will boast 10 cruise departures on eight unique itineraries, which will be available for booking starting December 14.
“Sky Princess continues a Princess Cruises legacy and honors one of our previous ships,” Princess Cruises group president Jan Swartz said in a statement. “When Princess merged with Sitmar Cruises in 1988, Sky Princess joined our fleet and sailed with us for 12 years. Now more than 30 years later, a new Sky Princess will join the fleet featuring our modern design platform and contemporary innovations offered to exceed our guests' expectations.”

Princess Cruises also announced the fifth Royal-class vessel currently under construction will debut in 2020.
