The Guadeloupe Islands Tourism Board is delighted to announce that Chef Jean-Rony Leriche, one of the leading voices of Caribbean gastronomy in France, will represent the French Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe at the 7th edition of the Creole Food Festival (CFF), held in Brooklyn at the Emily Roebling Plaza (under the Brooklyn Bridge) this weekend, September 26-28, 2025.
The festival, which also takes place in major cities such as Miami, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, draws thousands of participants each year. Showcasing culinary traditions from Africa, the Caribbean, South America, Latin America, and the Southern United States, the Creole Food Festival offers a multi-sensory experience.
Attendees can enjoy creations from top chefs of African and Creole descent, live cooking demonstrations, signature beverages, and immersive opportunities to discover the cultural stories and flavors behind each dish. Chef Leriche, born in Baie-Mahault, Guadeloupe, brings his innovative approach and refined technique to the festival.
Trained under Michelin-starred chef Frank Rénimel, Leriche combines technical precision with a creative vision that honors his Caribbean roots.
After founding Leriche de Saveurs in Toulouse in 2014, he received the Trophée Avenir from the Académie de l’Art Culinaire du Monde Créole, and in 2017, he earned the prestigious title of Maître Restaurateur, recognizing his commitment to quality cuisine.
In 2023, Chef Leriche opened his flagship LERICHE Restaurant in Paris, near the Arc de Triomphe, where he elevates traditional Caribbean techniques such as boucanage (wood-fire cooking) into refined gastronomic creations.
“The Creole Food Festival is a unique opportunity to share the richness of Guadeloupean cuisine with New York”, said Chef Jean-Rony Leriche. “My cooking celebrates Caribbean traditions while reimagining them in innovative ways, inviting people to travel through flavors and discover the soul of the islands.”
At CFF, Chef Leriche will showcase signature dishes that celebrate the flavors, history, and innovation of French Caribbean cuisine, offering festival-goers an unforgettable taste experience. His participation highlights Guadeloupe’s culinary heritage on an international stage, alongside other world-class chefs and cultural ambassadors.
“The participation of Chef Jean-Rony Leriche in the 7th Creole Food Festival is part of our strategy to position the Guadeloupe Islands as a leading culinary and cultural destination”, said Rodrigue Solitude, General Manager of the Guadeloupe Islands Tourism Board.
“Showcasing our gastronomy in New York allows us to engage directly with a highly influential audience in the Northeast, a priority market for us. By highlighting Guadeloupe’s culinary scene, our goal is to build stronger awareness, inspire curiosity, and ultimately drive more travelers from this region to experience the richness of our islands firsthand.”
The Guadeloupe Islands are renowned for their vibrant and flavorful culinary culture, blending French, African, Indian, and Creole influences to create a rich and diverse gastronomic heritage. Guadeloupean cuisine embraces a true farm-to-table and sea-totable philosophy, celebrating the islands’ natural bounty and centuries of savoir-faire.
This deep-rooted culinary expertise, passed down through generations, has made Guadeloupe a destination for travelers seeking authentic flavors and unforgettable dining experiences.
