Marketing efforts have really payed off as Florida's Space Coast has been attracting tourists in record numbers this year with an ever-widening array of activities for that target families.
All indications are that the region will post year-over-year gains, according to the STR Report.
Tourism tax collections in 2016 are 13 percent ahead of last year and, in September alone, collections were up 25 percent. Occupancy for September was up 16.4 percent from the previous year. Year to date, occupancy is up by 4.8 percent. Corresponding to the increased demand, ADR has risen by 7.9 percent over the past year, says the report.

Eric Garvey, the executive director for Florida's Space Coast Office of Tourism believes that, for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, revenues will exceed $12.8 million and he credits the surge in business to social media marketing and the enhancement of brand identity for cities along the Space Coast, which includes Cocoa Beach, Melbourne and the Beaches, Port Canaveral, Titusville, and Palm Bay.
