The observation level of One World Trade Center opened with a ribbon cutting today, allowing visitors to experience one of the greatest views in New York City. It is not just the highest observatory in the city, but also in the entire United States. Visitors are 1,250 feet above the street level looking out at an almost 50-mile view. The 360-degree view takes up the entire 100th floor of the building with a restaurant on the 101st and an event space on the 102nd.

The view of the city isn't the only sight that visitors get to take in while they are visiting. In the elevators, which are being called "skypods," guests reach the observation level in 60 seconds. During the trip, they see a video called "Voices" about those who built One WTC. There is also a virtual time lapse that shows the city's skyline growing from 1600 to the present as visitors are rising to their destination.

Tickets to the One World Trade Center Observatory are $32 for adults and $26 for children ages 6 to 12 and seniors get a $2 discount. Admission is free for family members of those who died on Sept. 11, as well as those who worked in the rescue and recovery, and are available online and in person. Officials expect 3 million to 4 million visitors a year.
