If you want to experience national parks with the fervor of an absolute maniac, you can dive into this awesome interactive map to its conclusion. Or, you can simply use it to check off just a few of this country's most beautiful locations.
As Lifehacker reports, a map has surfaced on the Internet that illustrates the most efficient way to visit each national park across the great expanse of the contiguous states. The innovative glimpse of these parks is thanks to Randal S. Olson who runs a blog where you can visit and enjoy the interactive travel tool.
Olson writes, explaining the large swath of landmarks you can enjoy if you so choose: "In total, this road trip spans 14,498 miles (23,333 km) of road and will take roughly 2 months if you're traveling at a breakneck pace. I've designed this road trip to form a circle around the U.S., so you can hop on at any point and proceed whatever direction you like. Just make sure to follow the agenda from that point on if you want to follow the optimal route!"
As noted, you will have to sacrifice 12 national parks that remain outside the realm of the contiguous states. That's because those locations make up the destinations within Alaska and Hawaii. So, if you are doing this for the glory of proclaiming you have visited every single nationally recognized natural treasure then you are barking up the wrong proverbial tree.
This, however, is a fantastic resource to glimpse what kind of journey you might take if you want to take the family on a road trip to your region's complement of national parks.

Starting here in Los Angeles, I might consider a jaunt to Los Padres National Forest before departing for Joshua Tree and then Death Valley National Park, which is painfully close to Las Vegas where one can cap off a brilliant vacation.
