The Walking Dead is one of the most popular shows on television, and this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal theme parks will feature scenes and moments from the critically-acclaimed series.

Starting on Friday, Sept. 18, guests of both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort will be able to explore mazes and attractions as they are fully immersed in The Walking Dead world from Season 5 as their favorite cast members.

Starting in the Terminus safe-haven compound, guests will then move their way through a three-dimensional world filled with zombie walkers before reaching the loading dock of the Del Arno Food warehouse to take on a final battle against the living dead.

Creative director at Universal Studios Hollywood and executive producer of Halloween Horror Nights, John Murdy, released a statement about the partnership with The Walking Dead:

"Just like the fans who wait anxiously for the next episode or season return of 'The Walking Dead,' this phenom of a show has become a 'Halloween Horror Nights' tradition and our guests look forward to a new 'Walking Dead' maze each year. We're fortunate to have the expertise of the show's creative team working collaboratively with us to create an authentic living representation of the series, and for fans, our maze experience is the next best thing to living in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse."

At the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, guests will be treated to a special attraction called The Walking Dead: Wolves Not Far. Dubbed the biggest, longest, most gruesome maze ever built at the West Coast destination, the attraction will feature twice as many walkers and will be built in an entirely new location.

On the other coast, Universal Orlando Resort will be a recreation of the show. From the hoards of walkers to the sights, sounds and fear straight out of the Emmy Award-winning series, the Halloween Horror Nights team has spared no detail for this event. The park even went as far as to recreate the iconic flooded food bank scene, where guests will be surrounded by hundreds of gallons of water as the zombies attack.
