Not to worry, citizens of Earth, because Al Gore and Pharrell Williams got this one.
BBC.com (h/t Rolling Stone) reports Live Earth will return in 2015, bringing together over 100 artists who will perform on multiple continents all in order to raise awareness about climate change.
Back in 2007, a similar effort brought together the likes The Police, Madonna, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers who performed in such locations as Wembley Stadium (United Kingdom), Sydney Football Stadium (Australia) and Coca-Cola Dome (South Africa).
The 2015 iteration of the live concert event will take place on June 18 with concerts being held in Paris as well as New York, Brazil, South Africa and Australia.
The report even promises that an unnamed band will play in the freezing climate of Antarctica.
Details are scant at the moment, but there is this teaser trailer for the mammoth undertaking:
News comes from Gore and Kevin Wall who were both present in Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum.
Now, for the moment, there is no word on exactly what bands or artists will make cameos at the June event, merely that the event's creative director will be none other than big-hat wearing Williams, who made so many hum their happiness last year:
Williams did offer a hint at the spectacle however vague: "Instead of just having people perform, we literally are going to have humanity harmonise all at once."
The artist also continued about changing things up this time around, hinting at the scrutiny of 2007's effort.
As BBC notes, "Although successful in raising awareness, the 2007 concerts were criticised by climate campaigners, who said it was hypocritical for performers who fly around the world on tour to promote the message of cutting carbon emissions."
To that end, Williams offered, "You would have pundits and comedians who didn't understand global warming and we were often ridiculed. We wanted to do something very different this time."
Gore, for his part, offered that the event would be no less than, "a billion voices with one message, to demand climate action now."
At the very least, it will be a collection of some of the biggest names in music gathering around the globe in a unified experience that will garner smiles and headlines across the globe.
So they have that going for them, which is nice.
