Las Vegas is another step closer to reclaiming its title as Entertainment Capital of the World with the city's iconic Cirque du Soleil shows set to return at 100 percent capacity this summer.
"Mystere" will reopen at Treasure Island on June 28 and "O" at Bellagio is set to resume on July 1. Both shows are expected to return at full capacity without social distancing requirements. The two theaters hold 1,800 and 1,600 seats, respectively.
Meanwhile, the famous Blue Man Group is scheduled to return to the Luxor on June 24, with performances taking place Thursday through Monday at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Cirque employees will be vaccinated against the coronavirus before returning to the stage and routine COVID-19 testing will continue in an effort to protect cast, crew and audience.
"This is the moment we have all been waiting for," Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, said in a statement last month. "Almost 400 days have passed since we had to take a temporary hiatus, and we have been anxiously awaiting our return to the stage. I am so proud of the resilience of our artists and employees who persevered during the most challenging times with stages dark around the world for so long. I just can't wait to see the lights go back on."
While there are no confirmed dates for other Cirque shows, Lamarre told the Las Vegas Sun that it's anticipated that "The Beatles Love" at The Mirage will return in July, "Michael Jackson One" at Mandalay Bay will be back in late August and "KA" at MGM Grand will return sometime around September or October.
