Temperatures will continue to drop, snow will fall and skis will be placed on the hoods of countless cars around the nation. Still, your own skiing trip will never be this beautiful.
AdWeek, Wired and The Huffington Post are just a few publications flipping over a stunning ad that does far more than sell technology, because it highlights the beauty of night skiing amid perfect Alaskan powder.
AdWeek's Gabriel Beltrone reports on Afterglow, a 12-minute video that serves to show the gorgeous results of night skiing at Golden Alpine Holidays (British Columbia, Canada) and Alyeska Resort in Alaska.
Philips' short-version video is below:
We don't blame you if you are rummaging around for boots and warm clothing or even calling your travel professional to book your next snow adventure, because this is the kind of video for which the word tantalizing was invented.
If that small appetizer wasn't enough, there is a longer version, which you can enjoy here:
As Beltrone states, the video was an effort to show off color-backlit Ambilight television technology, but it's the vivd sight of skiers sliding down the slopes that lingers.
Sweetgrass Productions reportedly utilized 4,000-watt spotlights to illuminate the professional skiers who donned 7,000-LED suits for the video.
Now you might not be able to mimic what is really a wondrous sight, but you can enjoy similar snow.
Winter touring packages at Golden Alpine Holidays begin on Dec. 7while festivities open in Alyeska on Nov. 27. Although you may have to settle for skiing of the day variety.
