Europe is apparently the place to be this fall, according to a new report from Virtuoso.
The network of luxury travel agencies recently polled U.S. jet-setters to find out which ten destinations are top of mind for the remainder of the year. Six were in Europe.
Italy was first on the list followed by the United Kingdom and France. Spain, the Netherlands and Germany rounded out the bottom half of the list.
With that Virtuoso ranking in mind, Travel Agent Central recently released its own list of the best events in Europe come fall. From wine harvesting to cultural events, there's a lot to see and do on the Continent:
Italy
A food-related event is practically a must when visiting Italy.
Travel Agent Central recommends The Alba White Truffle World market, which takes place every weekend from October 7 through November 1. Stands at the event not only sell truffles but also wines, cheeses, cured meats, pasta, baked goods and more. There are also tasting areas where guests can sample local wine and truffle specialties.
The market is located in Cortile della Maddalena, which is about two hours by car from Genoa and Milan.

Germany
One word: Oktoberfest. Is there really anything else that compares in Germany, come fall?
The country's two biggest events take place in Munich from September 16 through October 3 and in Berlin from September 22 through October 15.
For those planning to attend an Oktoberfest celebration, keep in mind that reservations are required at individual tents. Get there early because said tents often closed due to overcrowding, particularly on the weekend.
