Universal Orlando Forced to Rename Epic Universe Ride

Although it’s still a year away from officially opening, Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe has already had to rename one of its theme park thrill rides.

Starfall Racers is now Stardust Racers.

The name change was necessitated by a lawsuit filed by a school in Colorado of the same name that sued for copyright infringement. The ride will be located in the Celestial Park portion of the amusement park. 

The lawsuit’s outcome has yet to be decided, but Universal decided to cut its losses and get ahead of the game by simply changing the attraction’s name. The name change does not impact the aesthetics or the appearance of the ride itself.

However, any signage regarding the ride will have to be destroyed and changed to the new name.

Universal Orlando is currently in the midst of a summer ticket price reduction, and it hopes to draw patrons and get them ready for the name change.
