Universal Studios announced it would bring season 4 of
Netflix’s original series “Stranger Things” to life through an all-new haunted
house at the 2023 edition of Halloween Horror Nights.
Debuting on September 1 at Universal Orlando Resort and
September 7 at Universal Studios Hollywood, the new haunted house will
transport guests to Hawkins, Indiana. Once there, visitors will encounter the
latest supernatural villain, Vecna, who is hell-bent on destroying the barrier
between the Upside Down and the real world to reign supreme.
“From the opening shots of ‘Stranger Things 4,’ episode one,
we knew this was meant to be an experience at Halloween Horror Nights,” Universal
Hollywood Executive Producer John Murdy said.
The Stranger Things-themed attraction follows the storyline
of Season 4, including memorable characters like Eleven, Max and Eddie, as well
as iconic scenes like Hawkins Lab, the Creel House and Vecna's mindscape.
In a race against the clock, travelers will find themselves
in the ultimate showdown within Vecna’s Mind Lair, striving to escape the
demobats and save humanity from his curse.
“We’re excited for our fans to live Vecna’s curse as we
recreate the iconic and terrifying moments from the show,” Universal Orlando Assistant
Director Lora Sauls said.
Halloween Horror Nights runs select nights from September 1
through November 4 at Universal Orlando and September 7 through October 31 at
Universal Hollywood. The theme parks plan to announce more details and new
haunted houses in the coming weeks.
All event tickets are now on sale, including the Frequent
Fear and Rush of Fear Passes, which allow guests to experience the horror on
multiple nights. Travelers can also purchase single-night tickets and event
upgrades like Express Pass, R.I.P. Tour and the daytime Behind the Screams:
Unmasking the Horror Tour.
