One of the problems with taking a Megabus is that you are never sure where you are going to sit or who is going to sit next to you. Now for a fee, you can at least get one part of that fixed.
USA Today reported that starting today, Megabus is going to be offering 10 premium seats with an up-charge of between $1 and $7.
"Our customers have always found certain seats on the bus to be highly desirable," Megabus.com CEO Dale Moser said. "Reserved seating, now available on all of our double-decker routes, allows our customers to book their favorite seats in advance without the hassle of arriving over an hour early to secure them."
Megabus has been testing out these premium seats in select markets since May of last year, and is now ready to take the initiative fleet-wide. The premium seats will have a view, a table or both. Six of the seats will be on the upper level and four seats will be on the lower.
Moser went on to say that there may be additional seats made available for premium upgrade in the future due to high demand already in some markets.
Megabus, founded in 1986, operates in 130 cities across the country, and is a subsidiary of Coach, USA. Known for tickets as low as $1, the express buses provide free Wi-Fi, power outlets, and upgrade seatbelts.
