Meat lovers visiting Salt Lake City should be sure to pack their appetite because the Crossroads of the West is home to some world-class burgers.
Whether you're looking for a local classic, a burger as big as your head or singular and ambitious creation, Salt Lake City has the burger for you. While you'll be tempted to try them all, remember, moderation is key. Ah, who are we kidding? Just tack on an extra mile on the treadmill when you get home.
The Green Mile
Easily one of the best burger joints in Salt Lake City, chef Nick Watts' Chedda Burger is serving up burgers with attitude. And they don't get any more interesting than The Green Mile, a 100 percent natural Angus beef patty that comes topped with macaroni and cheese, bacon, green chile and whole grain mustard.

The Big Benny
If it's sheer portion size you're after, head over to Lucky 13 Bar & Grill for The Big Benny. This monstrosity features a whopping 28 ounces of chuck and stands approximately a foot tall thanks to the slew of delicious toppings. We're talking house-smoked bacon, ham, cheddar, swiss, caramelized onions and, of course, Lucky 13's signature sauce.

The Chubby
Torn between a burger and a grilled cheese sandwich? Stop by Copper Creek Pub & Grub for a mouth-watering Chubby. There are four variations of this robust creation, including the Chubby Melt, the Southwest Chubby, the Bacon Ranch Chubby and the Spicy Guac Chubby. Each includes a ground chuck patty smothered by a pair of grilled cheese sandwiches.

The Southwest Chubby comes with two grilled cheese jalapeno sandwiches, while the Spicy Guac Chubby includes a pair of Pepperjack grilled cheese sandwiches.
Crown Burger
You can't visit Salt Lake City without ordering Crown Burgers' signature item, the Crown Burger. The one-quarter pound beef patty is topped with cheese, Thousand Island dressing, lettuce, tomato, onions and, last but not least, hot Pastrami, which puts it over the top.

Cave Man Burger
If you're in town on a Thursday be sure to pay a visit to R&R BBQ for a die-hard meat lover's dream burger, the Cave Man Burger. This Thursday special combines a one-third pound burger with smoked BBQ classics, including pulled pork and andouille sausage. A special sweet sauce, cheese and fried jalapenos top it all off. Wash it down with a side of fries or smoked baked beans and a microbrew.
