So you are considering getting down to your birthday suit
and vacationing at a nudist colony.
That’s your first mistake.
They are no longer called nudist colonies but rather
nudist resorts. That’s the naked truth, and here are some other facts you
should know about becoming a nudist, courtesy of the American Association for Nude Recreation.
The general public does not know what happens behind the
high walls at nudist resorts, so certain myths have developed.
It's not a Roman bacchanal. Of course, there will be
natural curiosities, but these are a group of like-minded people who are
minimalist in nature. And that includes their clothing.
Are only card-carrying nudists allowed to visit nudist
resorts and clubs? Far from it. Everyone is invited to join the fun, and first-timers
are gladly welcomed. You will find nudists are among the most open and friendly
folks you’ve ever encountered. They make great conversationalists, and you’ll
have lots of fun chatting and laughing with the new friends you’ll make.
Nudists are always naked, right? Wrong. Nudist camps have
chilly weather and inclement days just like anywhere else, which almost demands
clothing.
And these resorts are filled with more than just young
and toned people. There are folks of all ages, and all body types are welcome.
Also, there is a healthy respect for privacy.
Just because you prefer to live a naturalist lifestyle
doesn't mean you have to share it with the world, as many clubs also restrict
or prohibit photography altogether.
