Traveling solo can be quite liberating, but it's not surprising if you have some jitters going into it for the first time. HuffPost contributors editor Sahaj Kohli has compiled some advice for first-timers with 22 tips that include the practicalities of traveling alone to how to get the most enjoyment from the experience.
"There's no right or wrong way to solo travel," wrote Kohl. "Each person's solo adventures are experienced uniquely to that person. So before you go, try really hard to clear out all the stories you've read and heard."
Her tips include advice on not over-scheduling yourself to bringing more cash than you need - always a good idea for any trip.
"And never keep (cash) in the same place," she said. "You won't have someone with you to spot you, or someone to rely on bailing you out. You never know when you'll need to convert more money, when cash is the only payment type accepted or if you'll lose your credit cards."
One of the most important pieces of advice to remember - have fun. Here is the full list of tips.
