Thanksgiving may be over, but the busy holiday travel season is just getting started. And for some, that will mean an awkward encounter or two with an annoying holiday traveler.
To determine which type of travelers irk their fellow journeyers the most, Travelocity surveyed more than 1,560 people this past September.
The results show that "The Oversharer" is easily the most annoying offender, with 27 percent of travelers in agreement. This person is way too eager to share things about themselves and their family with their fellow travelers and oftentimes provides too much information.
There's nothing wrong with making small talk - and you should always be polite, especially around the holidays - but you'd be wise to keep the sharing of personal information to a minimum.
Surprisingly, trailing the Oversharer is the drunk traveler. The holidays are a prime time for indulging and its widely accepted that many travelers will this time of year, especially aboard a long flight. But if you're attempting to push the limits, just know you're annoying nearly one-quarter (23 percent) of your fellow travelers.

Perhaps no less annoying is the ill traveler spreading germs everywhere they go. According to Travelocity's survey, 19 percent of respondents singled out the person who travelers despite their deteriorating physical condition as the most annoying.
In addition to uncovering the most annoying holiday travelers and their offensive behaviors, Travelocity's research uncovered a pair of helpful tips to avoid becoming who you seek to avoid, the bothersome traveler.
Passengers who want to switch seats this time of year should consider asking a woman. Why? Men are twice as likely to be annoyed by your request. And if you want to toss back a few drinks ahead of your flight, try your best to avoid millennials, who are twice as likely to be frustrated by your tipsy state.
