Ocho Rios is a former fishing village located on Jamaica's north coast. It's home to beautiful beaches and waterfalls, and magnificent hotels - just like Jewel Resorts

There are so many things to do in this area, but if you're looking to spotlight some of the top adventures on your vacation, here are some things that you shouldn't miss:

Bamboo rafting: Forget trains, taxis and buses. The best way to tour some of the area is to hop onboard a bamboo raft for two with a personal captain guiding you along the way. You can glide down the Great River or the Martha Brae River, while marveling at the exotic wildlife and the beautiful vegetation that the areas are known for. If you want, you can also trade places with your captain and steer your own bamboo raft.

Camel rides: When in Ocho Rios…ride a camel. Saddle up a camel and ride along a park trail on a historic Ocho Rios plantation. Here you'll get a close-up view of bananas, coconuts, and sugar cane crops.

Dunn's River Falls: A trip to Ocho Rios wouldn't be complete without a visit to the 600-foot Dunn's River Falls, which is a Jamaican landmark and a featured presence in the James Bond movie 'Dr. No.' Hike the falls and swim in the lagoons along the way. Then enjoy the incredible scenery once you've finally made it to the top.

Konoko Falls: If you can't get enough of the falls, then Konoko Falls also needs to be on your itinerary. Located in the heart of Ocho Rios, you can relax under the waterfalls or take a dip in the waters. You can also watch the beautiful koi fish in the pond.

Turtle River Park: This park is exactly that - a place where you can get back to nature, relax, read a book and get to know the vast amount of turtles that share the same park space. It's a surprising treat with 14 waterfalls, an aviary, swimming pool and pond.

Mystic Mountain Bobsled: Have you ever seen the movie Cool Runnings? If you're familiar with the famous story of the Jamaican bobsled Olympic team, you can relive your own experience at Mystic Mountain, sans snow of course. It's still an adventure to remember. When you're done with the three-minute ride you can also sail across the treetops on a zipline or take a tranopy tour.

Swim with the fishes: Well, the dolphins actually, one of the most intelligent creatures in the universe and everyone should get up close and personal with a dolphin at least once in their lifetime. You can do just that at Dolphin Cove Jamaica, where you can touch or kiss a dolphin or have one of them push you around the water. Here you can also swim with the sharks and stingrays and enjoy the hilarious Jamaican Shark Show.

Noel Coward: If you love exploring the homes of authors and taking literary tours than Firefly, the home of playwright and screenwriter Noel Coward, is a must see in Ocho Rios. Coward is known for "Meet Me Tonight" (1952) and "The Girl Who Came to Supper" (1963), a musical comedy based on The Sleeping Prince among many, many others.
