HELP IF YOU'RE HEADED TO CHINA
The Preferred Hotel Group launched China Ready, a comprehensive program designed to help hotels worldwide attract and retain Chinese outbound travelers.
China Ready launched in combination with a simplified Chinese website. The program will streamline booking Preferred's portfolio of 650 member hotels for Chinese travelers.
The website is hosted and managed in China and features images, booking capabilities, search engine optimization and a direct connection to the country's most popular social media platform, Sina Weibo, to facilitate impactful user engagement.
Member hotels can also join a dedicated China Ready marketing initiative designed to ready hotels for the sensibilities of Chinese travelers. Certification standards encourage hotels to offer Chinese tea and kettles in rooms, Mandarin-speaking staff and more.
ROSEWOOD TO OPEN IN CAMBODIA
The 148-room and suite Rosewood Phnom Penh will open in Cambodia in 2015.
The hotel will occupy the top 14 floors of the 39-story Vattanac Capital Tower One. The hotel is one of several coming Rosewood luxury hotels in Asia that will also include properties in Beijing, Chongqing, Bangkok, Phuket, Jakarta and Bali.
PRIVATE TAHITI RESORT GETS BETTER
Motu Teta, an all-inclusive private island resort in Tahiti, opened the Bungalow Royale- a second private residence for guests who visit the island.
The Bungalow Royale is located on the secluded northern side of Motu Teta, and now offers two residences for guests. The Bungalow Royale includes a master bedroom featuring a King bed, and an additional attached secondary bedroom with a futon/Double Bed.
The en suite bathroom includes a modern shower overlooking the ocean, marbled countertops, double sinks and private toilet room.
A large deck extends the length of the bungalow, offering a number of areas to relax, rest on one of the lounge chairs, and also a large wet bar with two bar stools to enjoy a tropical drink at sunset.
STARWOOD TAKING OVER ON UPOLU
Starwood will manage the Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows and Aggie Grey's Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa on the island of Upolu in American Samoa.
American Samoa is beginning to make moves toward creating a better environment for tourism. In November several local tourism businesses came together to launch the American Samoa Visitors Bureau's second Tourism Export Ready Training Program, designed to teach effective marketing.
Also on the horizon are two hotels that will be branded by Starwood. The Starwood hotels will be rebranded as the 198-room Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Hotel and the 140-room Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Resort, respectively, by mid-2014 following extensive renovations.
The Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows is an iconic property in Samoa with a long history that dates back to 1933.
