Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has big plans for 2026, outlining an ambitious renovation roadmap as it enters the second year of its strategic alliance with Hyatt.
The resort giant's efforts will be anchored by a $117 million investment plan and a focus on large-scale renovations, brand repositioning and experience upgrades at its properties around the world, including Spain, Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
2026 priorities include a comprehensive renovation of Bahía Príncipe Costa Adeje in Tenerife, the complete remodeling of 232 guestrooms at Bahía Príncipe Luxury Akumal in Riviera Maya, significant upgrades at Bahía Príncipe Grand Punta Cana—including improvements to 358 guestrooms and public areas—and full renovation initiatives at Bahía Príncipe Grand Jamaica and Bahía Príncipe Luxury Runaway Bay.
Additionally, Cayo Levantado Resort is expected to join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Located on its own private island in Samaná Bay, the 218-room resort will continue to operate under its existing name and concept while benefiting from expanded global distribution through Hyatt.

"Over these first 12 months, there has been a valuable transfer of knowledge and best practices."
"We have confirmed the complementarity of the Bahia Principe brand with the rest of the brands within our Inclusive Collection, and we have laid the foundations for its future growth—not only in the Caribbean and Europe, but potentially in destinations around the world as well," he added.
2025 also saw the reopening of Bahía Príncipe Luxury Tenerife as an adults-only resort in Costa Adeje following a full repositioning and the opening of Bahía Príncipe Grand Tequila, a new adults-only resort in Riviera Maya.
