Caesars Palace Las Vegas announced Friday that it has plans in place for a $75 million tower renovation, renaming the former Roman Tower as the new Julius Tower. Renovations to the new Julius Tower are just the latest in a long line of ongoing brand transformations for the Las Vegas resort, estimated at around $1 billion.
Scheduled to open to the public on Jan. 1, 2016, the new 587-room Julius Tower-named after Julius Caesar-will feature more modern and artistic rooms and suites for the discerning traveler. Prices for rooms inside the tower will start at $149 per night.
The rooms and suites will be designed by Michael Medeiros of KNA Design, and will feature touches of the classic styles found throughout the Roman-inspired hotel. His designs will also modernize the building while still maintaining the elegance of the resort.
Caesars Palace Regional President Gary Selesner released a statement about the tower upgrades:
"As we enter into our milestone golden anniversary year, we continue to reinvent Rome…and Las Vegas. We set the standard of luxury when we first opened our doors almost 50 years ago and are proud to continue to raise the bar for excellence in every way. Caesars Palace has a well-earned reputation for providing guests with impressive accommodations, unmatched culinary offerings, and the best in gaming and entertainment. With this renovation of our original tower, we are proud to continue this tradition and can't wait for guests to experience the all-new Julius Tower."
Guest rooms in the Julius Tower will offer 55-inch TVs, Beauty Rest Bouvet Island Mattresses, a mini bar, Gilchrist & Soames in-room toiletries and more.
Caesars Palace also announced the next phase of its brand transformation with the opening of MR CHOW Las Vegas in December.
