Choice Hotels' newest program is sure to be a hit with its most loyal and hungry guests.
The hotel chain announced it is partnering with on-demand marketplace delivery.com to offer its loyalty rewards members delivery services straight to their hotel room. Choice Privileges members will be able to take advantage of delivery services from local restaurants at nearly 1,000 Choice Hotels properties across the U.S. and earn loyalty points in the process.
Delivery services from wine and spirits shops, grocery stores and laundry and dry cleaning businesses are coming down the pike, the company said.
Choice Privileges members can access delivery.com through the Choice Hotels mobile app beginning Wednesday. Members will earn two loyalty points for every $1 spent and can typically expect their food to arrive at their door within an hour.
"Our collaboration with delivery.com makes even more parts of the travel journey rewarding, while also providing the faster pay off and better perks that already come with Choice Privileges membership," said the company's vice president of loyalty programs and customer engagement, Jamie Russo in a statement. "Working with delivery.com provides Choice Privileges members with convenient, personalized services and the added bonus of loyalty points when using the service-a great option, particularly for our busy, on-the-go guests."
Choice Hotels' exciting partnership comes nearly two years after Hyatt Centric began piloting a meal delivery program with mobile-food ordering company GrubHub before ultimately expanding the collaboration nationwide last summer. TripAdvisor also joined forces with GrubHub last year to integrate the latter's network of restaurants into its website and mobile app.
"The integration of delivery.com into the recently enhanced Choice Hotels mobile app demonstrates how Choice constantly aims to help make travel easier and more rewarding. A digital 'concierge' service, such as this, is just one example," stated Choice Hotels' vice president of digital commerce, Sarah Searls.
The Wyndham Hotel Group's extended-stay brand, Hawthorn Suites began piloting a grocery delivery service at eight U.S. hotels last year.
Choice Privileges boasts more than 33 million members worldwide and was rated the top loyalty rewards program in the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for the second straight year in 2017.
