Club Med is continuing to innovate its product offering to remain the “champion of the all-inclusive concept.”
The resort brand has announced that it will be expanding with 15 new resorts and will undertake several renovations.
After the December openings of the Samoens Morillon Grand Massif in France and Tomamu Hokkaido in Japan, Club Med plans to add five new resorts per year over the next three years.
Club Med also announced that it will execute five major renovations to its current resorts per year to offer both new and refreshed experiences.
“For more than 65 years, Club Med has continuously worked to improve and adapt to consumer demands and trends,” said Xavier Mufraggi, CEO of Club Med North America. “This entrepreneurial driving spirit has allowed us to remain an energetic and diverse place for travelers with upscale accommodations, superior sports programming, enriching children’s programs, gourmet dining and legendary hospitality skills.”

Expansion plans focus on three sectors, Asia, North America and Alpine resorts but span the globe.
This year, Club Med will open Club Med Joyview Great Wall in China in 2018. New resorts are also coming in Europe, including the Club Med Cefalu, opening in Sicily, Italy, this summer, and Les Arcs Panorama will open in Savoie, France, in December of 2018.
Looking forward, the resort company will strengthen its presence in Asia with a variety of new properties. There are also plans to develop new territory in North America, and Club Med indicated that it will open one new Alpine ski resort annually.
In Mexico, Club Med Cancún Yucatán is opening a brand new Aguamarina area for families—30 Family Club rooms and 30 Family Deluxe rooms. This will increase capacity of the resort and allow the resort to cater to families even more. Last year, the resort also completed a full renovation to all rooms and public spaces and introduced new restaurants.
In Asia, properties will open in Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Seychelles, starting in 2019 with the Club Med Ceylon in Sri Lanka.
In Indonesia, Club Med will open Club Med Lombok, also in 2019. A new 5-Trident Exclusive Collection resort will open in the Seychelles in 2020, and it will open its first Vietnam property in 2021, the Club Med Ho Tram, near Ho Chi Minh City in southeast Vietnam.
