Spa lovers take note.
The Hyatt Ziva Cancun, a member of the Playa Hotels & Resorts family, which features all-inclusive properties throughout Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, has recently launched an innovative, interactive spa experience-the Alchemy Project.
The Alchemy Project offers interactive workshops, where guests can learn about products, recipes, benefits and techniques used in spa treatments focused on healing, well-being and relaxation. The venture aims to improve and extend the experience for the spa guest.
Workshop Programs
Through the Alchemy Project, guests have three chances each day to learn about various spa techniques in a hands-on learning environment. Depending on the day and time, guests of the resort can learn everything from the correct way to giving a massage to how to make healthy desserts.
The week kicks off with classes in Juice Therapy, Aromatic Balance for Women and Purifying Facial. Tuesday's classes offer instruction in Sensory Fruits, Create Your Own Perfume and Botany for the Skin.
On Wednesday, guests can select from classes in Healthy Snacks, From Stress to Calmness and ancient Mayan Treatments. Thursday brings classes in Sensory Delicatessen, Couple Love and Revitalizing Facial. Massage Lessons, Healthy Children with Aromatherapy and Honey, The Key to Youth are on tap on Friday.
Alchemy courses available on the weekend include Enjoyable Desserts Without Guilt, Hair Care, Mexican Pleasures Body Treatment, Mani/Pedi Express, Tea Party and Create Your Own Mask.

Zen Spa, Spa Zen
The Hyatt Ziva's Zen Spa offers a full range of massage and body treatments, including packages that draw on healing traditions from different cultures and destinations. The spa also offers a full range of beauty treatments as well, for both men and women. And kids aren't left out. Younger guests can enjoy a Happy Feet Massage, a Chocolate Facial or even an Ice Cream Manicure or Pedicure.
The center offers 13 treatment rooms and beach palapas, and features a hydrotherapy circuit with ocean views, along with plunge pools, a hot tub and massage waterfall, sauna and steam rooms.
Additionally, all Hyatt Ziva and Zilara hotels will now use Eminence products for their facial and body treatments. Eminence's line is designed to enhance guests' well-being naturally and features natural, organic and biodynamic products. Biodynamic refers to the principle in farming that looks at the farm as a single entity, meaning that no products-seeds, for example-are brought in from the outside.
This initiative goes hand in hand with Playa's resolve to have all its properties become Green Globe certified by the end of 2017.
