Holiday Inn Aruba, Jamaica Set Destination Weddings Record

Wedding bells rang at a record pace at the Holiday Inn Resorts Aruba & Jamaica in 2008, as the sister properties combined to host 525 destination weddings throughout the year. The strong showing can be largely attributed to the Free Caribbean Weddings program launched by the properties during the latter half of 2007. "The destination wedding and honeymoon markets have traditionally performed well for us, but the Free Caribbean Weddings program has certainly kicked things up a notch," said Raul Villagran, director of sales and marketing at Holiday Inn Resorts Aruba & Jamaica. "Love endures all things, even a struggling economy. People have and will continue to get married. With our program enabling brides and grooms to affordably tie the knot in wonderfully unique and memorable ways, we expect this market to remain strong for us into 2009 and beyond."

The Free Caribbean Wedding program is available exclusively to U.S. travelers and includes a wedding location; the services of a professional wedding planner; the services of a minister in Jamaica or a non-denominational pastor in Aruba; a marriage certificate (a $200 legal fee applies for Jamaica); preparation of all documents; and a special gift from the resort. Both properties also offer videography and photography services, music and reception/banquet options at additional costs. To take advantage of the Free Caribbean Wedding program, couples must book a minimum seven-night stay in a deluxe room at the Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay or a minimum seven-night stay on the all-inclusive plan in a superior ocean front room at the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba. Fees apply for stays less than seven nights ($500 for Jamaica and $850 for Aruba). The Free Caribbean Wedding program is valid through Dec. 31, 2009.
