The holidays are in full swing and some of the country's most iconic hotels are helping guests get into the spirit with creative offers and seasonal attractions.
Whether you're looking to follow in the footsteps of your favorite Christmas movie character or carve your own path through a winter wonderland, there's a holiday hotel stay for you in 2017.
Here's how some of the nation's most recognizable properties are celebrating the season.
Get Lost in New York
The holiday classic "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" turns 25 this year and the Big Apple's influential Plaza Hotel is celebrating with a special package inspired by Kevin McCallister's unforgettable stay as depicted in the film.
Starting at $895, the package is available for stays beginning December 1 and features several highlights, including an interactive photo booth experience, a limited edition paint can containing all five Home Alone DVDs, a Home Alone 2 anniversary backpack and a massive ice cream sundae delivered straight to your room.
The Plaza's Concierge team can also provide express passes for a visit to the top of the Empire State Building, access to Wollman Rink, a four-hour limousine tour of New York complete with a Home Alone map and a personalized photographer.
Ice Skating and Igloos
Washington, D.C.'s renovated Watergate Hotel is taking winter to the roof this year. The hotel-perhaps best known for its namesake political scandal in the early 1970s-has transformed its rooftop bar, Top of the Gate, into an ice skating rink offering 360-degree views of the nation's capital.
Open Wednesday through Sunday during the upcoming winter months, the rink and lounge will also offer a special menu inspired by the season. Food and beverage options will include Stromboli, S'mores, German-style hot pretzels, Mulled wine, Kentucky apple cider, Bailey's hot chocolate and Keoke coffee.

The Watergate is also rolling out four luxe igloos on the outdoor terrace of The Next Whisky Bar. Starting at $200, the 12-foot heated domes are available for groups of two to eight people.
For an additional cost, guests can choose from one of four special igloo experiences, including afternoon tea, a three-course dessert tasting, a whisky flight accompanied by a burger and cigar and a romantic night out for couples.
All of the Lights
Chicago is perennially one of the hottest holiday destinations in America and The Blackstone is looking to give travelers another reason to consider a winter getaway to the Windy City.
The hotel's City Lights & Tree Lights package is available now through the end of the year for as little as $199 per night and includes two tickets to the Museum of Science and Industry's "Christmas Around the World" exhibit, a pair of cocktails to be enjoyed by the fireplace inside Timothy's Hutch lobby lounge and a sugar cookie at turndown.
Christmas and Hanukkah Under One Roof
Located atop San Francisco's famous Nob Hill, the Stanford Court Hotel can trace its roots back to the 1870s and Leland Stanford's legendary mansion. Nowadays, the hotel boasts more than 390 rooms and a 15-foot Christmas tree in its lobby.

This season, the luxury hotel is offering a pair of holiday packages for those celebrating in the Bay Area. The "Deck the Halls" package includes overnight accommodations in a fully decorated room-complete with stockings and strung lights-a dessert on arrival, a tabletop Christmas tree and a $50 gift certificate to see the Nutcracker at the San Francisco Ballet.
The similar "Happy Hanukkah" package also features an overnight luxury stay in a decorated room and a welcome dessert. However, this special offer includes two tickets to the Contemporary Jewish Museum and a special gift for each night of guests' stay.
