Iberostar Hotels & Resorts will reportedly build a new adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Cancun.
According to the Caribbean Journal, the Spanish hotel company is expanding its regional portfolio with a new-build tower, dubbed the Iberostar Cancun Star Prestige, which will be a standalone property in the Iberostar Cancun complex.
The new resort will be set on a beachfront location with the main tower comprising of 13 stories with 156 ocean-view suites. The Cancun property will also include a concierge, 24-hour room service and a private beach club.
Travelers visiting the facility will have access to the Iberostar complex's attractions, including an 18-hole golf course, 11 pools, a FIFA-regulation soccer field, and a luxury spa.
The news of another resort on the Caribbean coast of Mexico is just the latest in blockbuster series of announcements, including the recent strategic alliance between Playa Hotels & Resorts and Hilton.
Hilton revealed plans to open two new all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Latin America by the end of 2018, which will be owned and managed by Playa Hotels & Resorts. The two companies have initial plans to open eight additional all-inclusive resorts together by 2025.
