Auberge Resorts
Collection, renowned for its portfolio of exceptional luxury properties, has
been selected by Miami-based global developer Witkoff and Monroe Capital to
manage The Shore Club Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection in Miami
Beach, Florida,
marking a significant development in the city's hospitality landscape. Slated
to open its doors in 2027, the reimagined resort in the heart of Miami will be restored
and elevated to once again cater to the world’s most discerning guests.
Originally
designed by Albert Anis in 1949, The Shore Club has long stood as a landmark in
Miami Beach, revered for its architectural significance and social prominence.
Under the stewardship of Auberge Resorts Collection, this three-acre historic gem with a 175-foot strip of beachfront
is poised to reemerge as an exclusive destination that epitomizes luxury
living.
The upcoming
refurbishment will see the annexation of the adjacent Cromwell Hotel, built in
1939, and the addition of a new 18-story residential tower and a standalone
residential villa, both designed by the world-renowned Robert A.M. Stern
Architects. The original exterior landscaping and lush botanical gardens will
seamlessly weave together the various elements of the property.
“We are excited to
expand our urban footprint with the addition of Shore Club in Miami Beach, a
place where nature, art, culture and entertainment come together in uniquely
compelling ways,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman of Auberge Resorts Collection.
“Our proven skill in elevating historic properties through exceptional service
and experiences, together with Witkoff’s vision and Robert Stern’s exquisite
design, will transform this legendary address into a dynamic new destination
that embodies the unique spirit of Miami Beach. We can’t wait to bring this
vision to life.”
In partnering with
interior design firm Bryan O’Sullivan Studio and Kobi Karp
Architecture and Interior Design, RAMSA and Auberge Resorts Collection aim to
preserve The Shore Club’s Art
Deco-style integrity and character, exalting its vibrant past while
positioning it as the centerpiece of a new era in South Beach. Interior spaces
are set to embody timeless elegance while incorporating modern five-star amenities.
Rich wood surfaces, paired with undulating lines and brass accents are intended
to capture the opulent aesthetic and materials of classic yachts.
The reimagined Shore
Club will feature just 73 luxurious rooms and suites, including a lavish
penthouse, each of which offers guests direct beach access, five-star
amenities, and personalized service synonymous with Auberge Resorts Collection.
Meanwhile, the eight-story Cromwell Hotel will be converted into a discreet
entrance from which homeowners will access the 49 exclusive residences. Each one will boast a
distinctive layout and large dramatic windows that frame sweeping ocean views.
Residents will
have access to a private state-of-the-art fitness center, exclusive lounge,
library and residents-only pool mere steps away from the beach, and will also
be able to enjoy all other hotel amenities, including the signature restaurant,
cocktail lounge, world-class
Auberge spa facility and fitness center, three swimming pools surrounded by sun terraces with
a poolside café and bar.
Witkoff’s Co-CEO, Alex
Witkoff, remarked, “With all their experience and finesse in curating luxury
escapes and lifestyles, it gives me great pleasure to have the award-winning
team at Auberge Resorts Collection manage our property in Miami Beach. The
approach taken by Auberge Resorts Collection is very much in keeping with
Witkoff’s ethos of crafting top-tier luxury destinations. This collaboration is
complementary in every way and we very much look forward to working with them
to reinstate this iconic property on the Miami Beach skyline.”
