Playa Hotels & Resorts has appointed two new general managers to Jamaica properties.
Carlos Fresco and Vishal Vaswani to general manager of Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa and Jewel Runaway Bay Beach & Golf Resort, respectively. Both will be responsible for strengthening and maximizing operations at their resorts while working to enhance service quality and guest relations.

We are confident that their experience will play a crucial role in strengthening the already stellar reputation of the Jewel brand."
Fresco has worked at Playa Hotels & Resorts since 2014. He was most recently the hotel manager of Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos in Los Cabos, Mexico, where he managed the day-to-day operations of the resort. He also oversaw the opening of Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Fresco is an asset to the resort company as he is fluent in six languages and has earned a Hotel Management degree from Cornell University and a master's degree focused in all-inclusive hotels from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic.
Vaswani is also a veteran Playa employee. He has more than a decade in tourism experience and served as hotel manager at Playa's Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Vaswani, who hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a graduate from the Nova Southeastern University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Professional Management.
Both appointments reflect Playa's employee growth model, a companywide initiative to ensure each team member's success and advancement, which includes the additional appointments of Barbara Burton to General Manager at Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa, Karlene Ritchie to Rooms Division Director at Jewel Runaway Bay Beach & Golf Resort and Maygon Allen to Financial Controller for Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa and Jewel Runaway Bay Beach & Golf Resort, to name a few.
