Grupo Posadas, known for resort brands such as Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana and Fiesta Americana, has been awarded 150 hotels with Green Key and Blue Flag distinctions through The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
Posadas has over 180 hotels across Mexico and the Caribbean. Green Key and Blue Flag designations were awarded to hotels under several brands, including Live Aqua, Grand Fiesta Americana, Curamoria Collection, Fiesta Americana, The Explorean, IOH, Fiesta Inn and Gamma.
The recognition follows the group’s sustainability initiatives, which include energy efficiency and resource management advancements such as installing low-water-consumption showers and toilets, solar water heaters, heat recovery systems and more.
The Foundation for Environmental Education is a non-governmental non-profit organization that focuses on five pillars, two of which are Blue Flag and Green Key. Blue Flag designations are awarded to beaches, marinas and sustainable boating tourism operators. Green Key designations are awarded to accommodations and hospitality facilities that commit to sustainable business practices.
