Accor Hotels is working with a Singapore-based developer to open its first Pullman property in the island nation.

The 342-room, new-build property is to be located in Singapore's civic and cultural core and will feature a rooftop bar and executive lounge offering sweeping views. Plans for the hotel also include a vibrant lobby, a health and fitness center and a pool.

The hotel is set to open in 2022 after a complete redevelopment of its site.

"We are pleased to appoint AccorHotels to manage our first hotel and we will bring the same high quality that symbolizes our residential and mixed-use buildings to what will be our first hotel development," said Lim Yew Soon, managing director of EL Development, the company working with Accor to create the new property. "We are confident that the Pullman brand is the perfect fit for the market in Singapore as the brand has really built a strong reputation, especially in Asia."

The Pullman brand is one of the fastest-growing upper upscale brands in the world, Accor said. Since launching in Bangkok in 2007, it has become the hotel of choice for a new generation of hyper-connected travelers seeking contemporary design, culture, and connectivity in a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

"Pullman is one of the true success stories of the hotel industry and we are delighted to be able to announce our first Pullman for Singapore," Michael Issenberg, chairman and CEO of AccorHotels Asia Pacific, said in a statement. "As the largest hotel operator in Singapore, we believe the new Pullman will fill a gap in the market for a smart, modern hotel that meets the demands of the discerning digital traveler."

The brand's footprint currently includes 120 Pullman hotels in 33 countries worldwide. The Asia Pacific region accounts for more than 70 hotels and resorts and more than 21,000 rooms.

The Singapore property will join flagship addresses worldwide including Pullman London St Pancras, Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel, Pullman Phuket Arcadia, Pullman Park Lane Hong Kong.
