Oahu is getting its first adults-only hotel when the Romer House Waikiki opens on June 1, 2024.

Located along the popular Waikiki’ Beach, Romer House is a mid-century-inspired retreat offering 179 rooms with rates starting at $195 per night. Reservations are available for booking.

Guest rooms are designed by Indidesign, with design features that harken back to Hawai’i: woven textiles and warm wood tones are combined with dark blues and blacks. Many rooms offer two queen beds or one king, with some featuring private lanais.

The hotel’s signature restaurant blends local ingredients with Japanese cuisine. Called IZAKAYA 855-ALOHA, the restaurant and bar is spearheaded by Chef Shotaro “Sho” Kamio and is designed to be a gathering place for guests long after the sun sets.

The Backyard is a pool and bar area offering cabana daybeds, lounge chairs, a full-service bar, food options and a serene pool surrounded by plants native to the island.

Romer House Waikiki just does things differently. One of them is a commitment to showcasing local art throughout the hotel. A large-scale gallery wall offers a glimpse into local artists’ foci, while guestrooms offer photography by surf photographer Arto Saari. The pool deck features murals by Matías Solario and Cory Kamehanaokalā Taum of POW! WOW.

Additionally, the hotel has a commitment to serving its local community. It’s a steward of the King Kalākaua Park, and guests are invited to support its stewardship by contributing to the Genki Ala Wai Project with Waikiki Community Center and the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation initiative.
