WHY IT RATES: ARC's Connex Orders system now allows for payment card transactions such as debit and credit cards, expanding opportunities for ordering. — Lacey Pfalz, Senior Editor, News & Features, TravelPulse
Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) today announced the second release of ARC Connex Orders, expanding its orders-based reporting and settlement capabilities beyond cash transactions to support orders with payment cards. Payment cards include debit, credit and charge cards.
“Supporting orders with payment cards is a significant step for ARC Connex Orders,” said Jennifer Watkins, Director of Payments at ARC. “Accurate payment information is essential throughout the order lifecycle. The second release lets airlines report orders with cash and payment card forms of payment while supporting the settlement of associated commissions.”
The expansion advances ARC’s support for airlines and travel agencies as they move toward orders-based retailing. ARC Connex Orders is part of the ARC Connex portfolio, which provides reporting and settlement solutions enabling airlines to retail and distribute products in ways that work best for them and their partners.
“ARC Connex Orders was built to help the industry move from tickets to orders while preserving the trusted reporting and settlement processes airlines and agencies depend on,” said Chuck Fisher, Chief Airline Retailing Officer at ARC. “Adding support for orders with a payment card form of payment brings that vision closer to the way the industry does business every day.”
