Mexico continues to be one of the most popular resort destinations in the world, and it’s encouraging this ongoing trend with some incredible new resorts opening in 2024.
While the Mexican Caribbean remains incredibly popular, the dearth of new luxury resorts opening in Los Cabos next year showcase how popular the drier and rockier coastline along the Sea of Cortez has become.
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol
Opening in early 2024 is a new luxury resort and residence offering in Cabo San Lucas: the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas, located within the Cabo Del Sol development area. The hacienda-style property will offer 96 rooms and suites, as well as 61 residences, villas and estates, all featuring views of the scenic Sea of Cortez. A beach, three ocean-view pools, a spa and fitness center, three restaurants, five bars and access to the Cabo Del Sol golf course round out this luxury resort experience.
The Beachfront by The Fives Hotels
The Beachfront by The Fives Hotels will open in the spring of 2024 as an adults-only boutique resort getaway along the Xcalacoco beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The resort will offer 50 beachfront and ocean-view rooms. With exclusivity in mind, its beach will be private for guests only, while the resort will feature premium dining, drinking and daily programming.

Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo Del Sol
The Park Hyatt Los Cabos will be located in the premier Cabo Del Sol resort development area when it opens late 2024, located just 20 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas. The resort will boast 163 ocean-view rooms and suites, along with 19 villas and residences, as well as several pools, golf, a spa and wellness center. Travelers can enjoy 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space for events and meetings. The resort is part of Hyatt's luxury resort expansion.
Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos
The Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos launches as part of Preferred Hotel Group's Legend Collection in January, 2024. The adults-only resort offers 79 suites boasting private plunge pools and ocean-view terraces. The resort features two all-inclusive restaurants, a full-service spa and wellness center, daily programming that includes cooking classes, tequila tastings and more, along with event and meeting spaces. The boutique resort shares amenities with the Grand Velas Los Cabos next door, its sister property, which opened in 2016.
Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort
The Marriott Cancun Resort is being completely redesigned to become the Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort in early 2024. Offering a luxurious and family friendly all-inclusive resort experience, it'll offer novice-to-expert artist workshops, elevated amenities such as family beach picnics, multi-generational dining experiences and much more. While it's not a new-build, the Marriott Cancun will be a totally new experience.

SHA Mexico
Opening January 26, 2024 is SHA Mexico, a wellness clinic in Costa Mujeres, Mexico. The clinic will feature 100 rooms and suites, along with 35 residences, all offering private balconies overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The wellness clinic offers exclusive stays ranging from 4 to 21 days long, and offers a range of wellness experiences, with yoga and meditation sanctuaries, a hydrotherapy circuit, wellness consultations and more. Specific programs and sessions range from sleep programs to stress management and more.
Almare, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, Isla Mujeres
Located on the trending Mexican island of Isla Mujeres is the upcoming Almare, part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, which is expanding in 2024. The adults-only all-inclusive offers ocean-view suites and ample privacy. The resort will feature three dining experiences with three unique concepts: BOGA, a locally inspired restaurant featuring indigenous cooking methods; Seasalt, a 360-degree ocean-view Mexican and European-style restaurant; and Botanik, a pool bar offering woodfire cooking along with tropical drinks.
