Marriott International celebrated its 500th luxury hotel opening during the recent International Luxury Travel Market in Cannes, opening The St. Regis Riyadh.
There are five new luxury hotels still slated to open before the end of the year, with another 24 properties to debut in 2024 across its portfolio of luxury brands, which include The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, W Hotels, The Luxury Collection, EDITION Hotels and JW Marriott.

The Ritz-Carlton
The brand expanded with The Ritz-Carlton, Portland; The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne and The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka in 2023, as well as the sixth Ritz-Carlton Reserve retreat in Jiuzhaigou, China.
In 2024, the brand will celebrate the debut of its second yacht in the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Ilma. It will also open two Ritz-Carlton Reserves, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the Red Sea and Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve located in Costa Rica’s Papagayo Peninsula.
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts
In 2023, luxury brand St. Regis Hotels & Resorts celebrated the opening of The St. Regis Riyadh, The St. Regis Chicago, which takes the title as the tallest building in the world designed by a female architect, and The St. Regis Kanai Resort in Mexico.
In 2024, the brand expects to open new hotels and resorts in Los Cabos, Cap Cana and Longboat Key in Florida.
W Hotels
W Hotels celebrated the openings of hotels in Budapest, Edinburgh, Sydney and Macau in 2023. Next year, it expects to open the W Prague, along with several remodels of hotels in North America.
EDITION Hotels
EDITION Hotels expanded with the openings of The Rome EDITION, The Singapore EDITION, The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai and The Tokyo EDITION.
Upcoming hotel openings in 2024 include The Jeddah EDITION in Saudi Arabia.
The Luxury Collection
The Luxury Collection celebrated new openings in 2023, like Shisui in Nara, Japan and Paragraph Freedom Square in Tbilisi, Georgia. The collection will debut several more additions next year in destinations like Madrid, Munich, Nice, Isla Mujeres, Labuan and Sindalah.
JW Marriott
JW Marriott celebrates the debut of its luxury safari lodge, JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge in Kenya in 2023, along with the debut of JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa on Jeju Island, South Korea, JW Marriott Madrid, and JW Marriott Dallas Arts District. New hotels are expected to open in Nairobi and Auckland next year.
