It can be awfully difficult to remain physically active while traveling. While most hotels and resorts boast well-equipped fitness facilities and healthy dining options, the biggest challenge is oftentimes finding motivation and forming a plan of attack.
But that's no longer an issue for guests staying at Starwood Hotel & Resorts Worldwide's Westin Hotels & Resorts brand.
The company announced Tuesday that its Westin brand has partnered with FitStar by Fitbit to roll out a series of customizable fitness programs that are available at most of the brand's 200 hotels around the globe.

In addition to offering guests free trial access to the FitStar Personal Trainer app, the partnership will result in video-based workout sessions designed specifically for travelers with limited time and space. Designed in collaboration with Westin's National Running Concierge Chris Heuisler, FitStar has developed the "Stay Fit with Westin" session within its personal trainer app.
Simple exercises include elbow planks, floor bridges, and alternating knee raises, which guests can execute without equipment and in a short period of time. What's more, the session incorporates exercises that help relieve muscle pain and other physical ailments brought on by travel.
"Since Westin established its well-being position five years ago, we have seen the focus on wellness accelerating with new technology and the growing popularity of wearables, like those from Fitbit," Westin's global brand leader Brian Povinelli said in a statement. "This partnership with FitStar by Fitbit offers our guests another meaningful way to maintain their exercise routines when and where it works for them."

The partnership with FitStar by Fitbit isn't Westin's first foray into the wellness movement. In addition to its WestinWORKOUT fitness studios, the brand features nearly 200 runWESTIN Concierges who host group runs for hotel guests around the world.
