Westin Hotels & Resorts has taken yet another step to make it easier for guests to stay on track with their fitness routine while traveling.
The Marriott International brand has announced a collaboration with Peloton to bring its cutting-edge stationary bike into both Westin hotels' fitness centers but its guestrooms as well.
Available at select Westin properties across the U.S., the state-of-the-art cycle allows users to stream live studio cycling rides and access thousands of on-demand classes led by world-class instructors from a 22-inch high-definition touchscreen monitor.
WestinWORKOUT fitness studios at hotels in Austin, Detroit, Denver, New York City, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle, among other cities will offer the Peloton experience for no additional charge.
Starting now, guests staying at Westin properties in cities like Chicago, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles and Boston can book a WestinWORKOUT guestroom and take advantage of a private workout. These special rooms also feature hand weights and yoga accessories so guests can complement their cycling with cardio and yoga workouts.
The rates for a Peloton bike-equipped room will vary based on region, the length of stay and other factors. At the moment, there are no more than two WestinWORKOUT guestrooms available at any Westin hotel.
"As Westin continues to evolve its programs and partnerships with the growing global demand for well-being, we are thrilled to partner with an industry game-changer like Peloton who, like us, aims to take the stress out of staying active on the road," Westin's senior vice president and global brand leader Brian Povinelli said in a statement.
"There is no one piece of workout gear I'd rather have at my disposal in a hotel than a Peloton cycle, as I know I can get an excellent workout perfectly suited to my needs and timeframe without having to re-learn anything about the machine," writes self-proclaimed "Gear Diva" and Forbes fitness enthusiast Allison Olmsted.
As part of the preferred partnership with Peloton, Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) members can bid to host a private cycling class through SPG Moments. Taking place at Peloton's flagship New York City studio, the private event will last 45 minutes. The winner will pick the instructor, curate the music playlist and invite up to 56 guests.
The package also includes free after-class mini smoothies, a $100 gift card to the Peloton boutique and pictures with the instructor.

Westin's new partnership with Peloton is the latest of many fitness alliances during recent years. In the past, the brand has teamed up with Delta Air Lines and Fitbit to offer enhanced sleep offerings as well as customizable fitness programs.
By constantly evolving and bringing creative wellness offerings like Peloton to the table, Westin and other health-conscious brands are not only making life easier for guests but encouraging travelers to make better choices.
That's important considering a recent hotel amenities survey conducted by the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration found that fewer than one-quarter of hotel guests who say they plan to use the hotel gym at some point in their stay actually follow through.
