Business travel is not exactly conducive to maintaining a fitness routine.
It's a fact according to Carlson Wagonlit Travel: Based on the company's survey, most business travelers are not adhering to their health and wellness regimens during business trips.
The data showed that only 40 percent of people stick to their fitness routines when on the road, while 54 percent acknowledge travel disrupts their exercise and wellness routines.
The data also varies based on geography. For instance, 84 percent of Asia Pacific business travelers reported being in control of their routines when away from home. About 76 percent of individuals from the Americas maintain their exercise when jet-setting, while 73 percent of Europeans make it a point to stick to exercise regimens when traveling.
Hotels are assisting travelers with the struggle to stay healthy on the road via trainers, high-profile partnerships with fitness companies and new "on-demand" fitness tools to their programming.
Westin offers its guests access to world-class fitness studios, a gear lending program that includes New Balance products and local running maps.
Additionally, as TravelPulse writer Patrick Clarke recently reported, the brand also inked a deal with suspension training specialist TRX that will bring the company's versatile equipment to more than 200 WestinWORKOUT fitness studios around the world.
JW Marriott meanwhile, offers on-demand workouts. The program provides workout videos for travelers staying in the brand's guestrooms at JW hotels across the Asia-Pacific region.
Other hotel chains with notable fitness offerings include Even Hotels, Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, Hilton and Mandarin Oriental.
