Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ Women Own the Room initiative, which helps current and prospective women hotel owners break down historic barriers to hotel ownership, has celebrated fifteen hotel openings and over 50 signings in a little over two years.
While women comprise nearly 60 percent of hospitality’s workforce, they only hold ten percent of leadership positions. Women Own the Room, which currently has 550 members, seeks to add to that low percentage by offering financial solutions, personalized operational support and a community for networking and education.
Women Own the Room’s signings, and currently open hotels, represent over 4,000 rooms across the U.S. and Canada, under brands like Days Inn, Baymont, Wyndham and Trademark.
“Wyndham has played a pivotal role in my success as a first-time hotelier, which I credit not just to the accessibility and responsiveness of leadership, but their willingness to work with me on an individual basis to help my hotels thrive,” said Christina Lambert, Wyndham Franchisee and Member of Women Own the Room.
“Through Women Own the Room, Wyndham is actively investing in women and in doing so, they’re changing the face of the hotel industry," Lambert continued.
Wyndham franchisees also benefit from the Wyndham Advantage, which offers marketing and distribution resources, of which over $275 million has been invested in technology over the past five years to ensure franchise owners have the most recent technology available.
