A JetBlue flight was headed from New York for Florida when it had to make an emergency stop in South Carolina on Friday.
Fox News reports JetBlue flight 913 had left Westchester County Airport for its destination at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport when smoke was noticed coming from the cockpit.
It was then decided that the Embraer E190 plane needed to make a quick stop at Charleston International Airport, which it reached just before 10:30 on Friday morning.
Dan Linden, ABC's global head of social media, was one of the first to tweet out the FAA's statement on the unfolding event.

The report offers a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration: "Passengers evacuated from the aircraft via emergency chutes will be bused to the terminal."
JetBlue issued a response directly to Fox News by email, stating that all 94 passengers were safe: "JetBlue flight 913 from White Plains to Fort Lauderdale diverted to Charleston out of an abundance of caution following reports of smoke in the cabin. The flight landed safely at 10:30 a.m. local time, and all customers and crew have evacuated with no reported injuries at this time."
Social media offered images from the airplane as passengers disembarked via chute.
