On Monday, a United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) computer outage which lasted around four hours resulted in long lines and delays at several airports across the country.
The outage impacted inbound international travelers the most, which were forced to wait at customs screening stations for hours.
According to Reuters.com, the CBP computer outage started at around 5 p.m. ET and last through 9 p.m. ET, but all airports which reported problems are now back online. Airports in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston and Atlanta were impacted.
"At this time, there is no indication the service disruption was malicious in nature," CBP spokeswoman Jennifer Evanitsky said in a statement. "During the technology disruption, CBP had access to national security-related databases and all travelers were screened according to security standards."
