Sergeant Sean O'Hare of Morris Township, New Jersey, was spending time on the beach in Clearwater, Florida when he was "called into action," according to a post by Captain Mark DiCarlo on the Morris Township Police Department Facebook page.
"Sgt. O'Hare quickly recognized the commotion and distress surrounding the incident of a two-year-old child that was drowning," wrote Captain DiCarlo. "The child was blue and not breathing when removed from the water. Sgt. O'Hare initiated CPR and was able to resuscitate the child."
"On behalf of the Pinellas County, Florida Emergency Services, and the Morris Township Police Department, we recognize the outstanding efforts of Sgt. Sean O'Hare. Thank you for being a true hero."

A Facebook user identified as Sue Smith, commented, "Way to go officer O'Hare, You are every parent's hero. Being a mom I can not imagine a more horrible day in my life than those parents were having. You changed their world. Put on that super hero's cape because you earned it!"
