Multiple terrorist attacks involving explosions rocked the Belgian capital of Brussels Tuesday, killing more than two dozen people and injuring well over 100 more.

The attacks, which occurred at Brussels Airport and the Maelbeek metro station prompted Marriott International to issue a statement Tuesday.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic events in Brussels and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and all those impacted," the Bethesda, Maryland-based hotel company said. "At this time, all of our guests and employees have been accounted for and there has been no direct impact to our hotels."

"The safety and security of our guests and employees is always a top priority. We will continue to monitor the situation."

Marriott also provided critical information for affected travelers.

"Given the ongoing situation, we are sensitive to the potential impact on our guests. As such, we are waiving cancellation fees for guests holding existing reservations at all four Marriott properties in Brussels for the immediate future."

"Additionally, we are working with our group and special event customers on a case-by-case basis," the company added.

Marriott operates four hotels in Brussels, including the Courtyard Brussels, which is located just nine minutes from Brussels Airport. Meanwhile, the four-star Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place is located in Brussels city center and less than two miles from the Maelbeek metro station.

Marriott encouraged guests seeking reservation information to contact the company's global reservations at 800-228-9290.
