European Waterways is unveiling a selection of new and enhanced excursions for its luxury hotel barge cruises in Europe.
The company is now offering private, tailor-made adventures with an emphasis on food, wine, local culture and history.
The new offerings include truffle hunting and olive oil sampling in southern France; a wine exploration and goat cheese tasting in Burgundy and the Upper Loire; a private wine immersion on the Canal du Midi; and a visit to a Champagne house on the UNESCO-listed Avenue de Champagne.
The excursions are often hosted by locals and led by knowledgeable onboard guides.
