Google Maps is growing up and looking a little more distinguished these days. But in the case of its new facelift, it's actually losing some lines.
According to the company's blog, the map innovation is getting a new look across desktop, iOS and Android.
As you can see from the above, the major feature is the loss of road outlines, leading to a much easier experience for the eyes.
The left map represents the old look with the right offering a much more pleasant vantage of your respective town.
But the loss of lines isn't all that Google has rolled out, because some areas will boast orange highlights.
Those are meant to draw your attention, because they are promised to be areas of interest. This should make spelunking around an unfamiliar city far easier for tourists.

The new Maps will also include an updated color scheme that will instantly show you what type of attractions are in a given area.

For example, pleasing blues will signify water attractions while those bright orange hues signify human features like restaurants and bars.
Now you can get a more complete snapshot of the landscape before you ever zoom into an area.
