Unless you meet a crazy doctor with his very own DeLorean, chances are great that you won't experience the wonder of traveling through time - until now.
Expedia UK recently launched a way-back wonder called Historic London (h/t Tnooz).
Thanks to the advent of Google Street View, we have been taking coffee breaks and scouring the world from our computer for years.
It's a wonderful way to daydream about past or future travel without having to actually put down a credit card and book a trip.

In some cases, it's possible to have an added layer of intrigue tossed into the mix.
Thankfully, you can view modern day London now overlaid with some archived images such as the one above (Westminster Abbey) or this one featuring the iconic Buckingham Palace.

Consider this your time-wasting device of choice to end the workweek, scouring 14 London locations as they look currently and back when things were far simpler.
And because we are spoiled travelers who enjoy convenience, we have to proclaim that we simply needed more locations.
Perhaps that just means this is an innovation that was done so well it left us wanting more. Still, London's complement of stunning parks is sadly missing from some of the spotlights.

With that being said, you get to appreciate how bustling Oxford Circus was at the turn of the century and how majestic Buckingham was over 100 years ago.
True, we may never get to actually travel through time. But tricks like these get us close enough to put a smile on our face.
