There's another solution to get to the airport outside of taxi service, Uber, Lyft or shuttle. Those of you who use Expedia may have already been introduced.

Wingz is a relatively new innovation that works a bit like Uber but concentrates its efforts on squiring travelers from home to airport and back again.

And like its ride-sharing cousins, the service is relatively inexpensive. From Venice to Los Angeles for two passengers with two checked bags the quote returned was $29, which is around what you might expect from some Uber services, which ranges from about $16 for UberPOOL to $21-27 for UberXL (Other Uber services might garner far more fees).

However, it's just fine if you have no clue what we are talking about, because you will slowly be introduced to the service - especially if you are used to Expedia as your No. 1 travel solution website.

Tnooz reports the two have become fast friends over the past year - Expedia helped raise $11 million at the end of 2015 and now it's infusing its own website service with Wingz' offerings.

According to the report, if you are requesting a private transfer within Expedia, you will happen across Wingz along with the usual complement of other service providers.

For Wingz, this is a tremendous opportunity to establish its brand in a market that is increasingly flooded by ride-sharing and transfer solutions for busy travelers.

It's hard enough to set your particular app or website apart from Uber and Lyft, which are already ingrained into the industry's psyche. It's another to get your brand to pop up in a travel website.

For Expedia, the advantage is quite simple. For its money it now has a viable solution for that traveler that doesn't just want a web query to end with hotel and flight accommodations but also with a means to get from the airport.

While there are many who wake up and hire an Uber the second they are ready to go, there are many others who like to plan ahead and create something of brand loyalty.

According to Tnooz, Wingz is perfect in that regard in so much that you can also request to have a driver that drove you on a previous trip.

Regardless, this is tremendous news for consumers that continue to see integration across myriad brand. It all really means just one thing: Travel is becoming far more accommodating.
