The realization that you have to renew your passport is normally met with the kind of aggravation normally reserved for the DMV. Thankfully, a new app is helping to change all of that.

Many of you are already well acquainted with ItsEasy, a company that has been around for 37 years. We even featured the previous version of their respective app in a breakdown of various tech innovations that help those trying to get a passport.

That particular app has now evolved from helping travelers with their photos to now aiding in the renewal process, which is something included in Wednesday's update.

You can get going on the process with the free download on iOS devices (Android promised soon).

CEO and President of ItsEasy.com, David Alwadish, spoke to the new rollout via a press release: "This is truly an exciting time for ItsEasy. We've been working on this app for quite some time; perfecting it, adding new components to it and bettering it in general. I wanted to create an app that allowed U.S. passport holders to renew their passport with ease from their iPhone in a beneficial, secure, and easy way."

Alwadish continued, explaining that this is hardly a one-dimensional app.

With the added features, the innovation is something useful that will only help ensure world travelers have their all-important passport updated: "This is truly an app that all passport holders should have downloaded for free on their iPhones, and soon on Androids. The app is more than a passport renewal app and includes other features such as passport photos, visa requirements, an emergency info button (for travelers who lose their passport or visa while in another country), and a passport renewal reminder feature that will remind users via email to renew their passport nine months before their passport expires."

For $29.95, you are getting a healthy complement of features, which includes, among other things, a USPS shipping label so you don't have to waste time at the post office, passport photos that can either be mailed or emailed directly to you and updates to where your renewal is in the process.

Basically, the anguish of waiting for the mail to arrive has been nixed in favor of an app that understands your plight, like a wonderful new travel buddy.

And you can still take pictures in camera, which means you can scowl in the comfort of your own home.

A great majority of the renewal process can now be done on your own time in your very own pajamas, leaving all the crucial energy for when it matters, which just so happens to be the minute you decide to employ that brand new passport.
