Want to help the world, but don't have the money to travel?

Travelocity has launched a program to make it all possible.

Travelocity announced Monday that it has re-launched its "Travel for Good" grant program to accommodate the growing desire to travel for philanthropic purposes. As part of a contest, three deserving individuals will receive a $20,000 trip for two to the destination of their choice. On top of that, Travelocity will make a $10,000 donation to each winner's non-profit organization of choice.

The contest runs through Oct. 18. To apply, travelers must follow @Travelocity or @TravelForGood on Twitter, then use the hashtag #TravelForGood while sharing the location and purpose of their trip, the organization with whom they want to volunteer and why they are passionate about that cause. Applications can be submitted in any format -including text, images and video - to make their case for selection.

Traveling to volunteer, otherwise known as "voluntourism," has become one of the fastest growing areas of travel. According to a recent survey Wakefield Research conducted for Travelocity, 63 percent of Americans are interested in taking a trip that combines both volunteer time and leisure, but 42 percent of those surveyed said cost is a top reason for not going on a voluntourism trip. This is one of the main reasons why Travelocity decided to re-launch its Travel for Good program.

"Part of our mission at Travelocity is to inspire people to travel, but what is so exciting about our Travel for Good program is that we get the opportunity to recognize those people who inspire us," said Brad Wilson, vice president and general manager of Travelocity, via a press release. "Everyone at Travelocity is eager to learn about the amazing journeys that these people wish to take in order to make a difference around the world. The hardest part is going to be choosing just three."

Travelocity employees are also doing their part. Not only are they aiding in the Travel for Good campaign, but they are also volunteering for non-profit organizations around the world, from the U.S. to Nicaragua to India.

For more information on the program, visit the Travel for Good website. Entries can also be submitted directly from this page. Additionally, Travelocity will be awarding $500 to 100 deserving individuals to get them started on saving for their own Travel for Good efforts. All of the travel award recipients will be notified throughout the duration of the campaign.
