Responsible and B-Corp certified tour operator, Intrepid Travel, is launching two new limited-edition tours supporting the National Parks in response to the Trump Administration’s proposed $1 billion cut to the U.S. National Parks Service and the dismissal of over 1,500 NPS staff members.

The new tours, called ‘Active-ism’ trips, will be led by a local Intrepid guide and hosted by a guest activist, who will educate travelers on the national parks’ conservation challenges and how they can best advocate for them.

Intrepid has already committed to donating $50,000 on behalf of its travelers to NGOs protecting the national parks.

The first itinerary is the 5-day Active-ism: Zion & The Grand Canyon trip, starting at $1,446 per person. The trip will offer two departures and will include a tour of Monument Valley with a Navajo guide, a walk along the Grand Canyon’s rim, hiking in Zion National Park and more.

The first departure, leaving November 1, is hosted by public lands advocate Alex Haraus; the second, leaving April 14, 2026, will be hosted by environmental advocate and founder of Black Girl Environmentalist, Wawa Gatheru.

The second itinerary will also offer two departures and is a 6-day Active-ism: Yellowstone & The Grand Tetons trip, starting at $2,061 per person. This trip includes three days exploring the world’s oldest national park, Yellowstone, including a wolf-tracking adventure. Travelers will also enjoy Grand Teton National Park’s scenic wonders.

The first trip, departing June 7, 2026, will be hosted by climate educator Michael Mezzatesta, while the second departure, on June 14, will be hosted by environmental author Leah Thomas.

Intrepid Travel has also partnered with environmentalist and drag artist Pattie Gonia to help promote the trips.

“As a purpose-driven company, we recognize the role that tourism can play in supporting both people and protected areas,” said Leigh Barnes, President of the Americas for Intrepid Travel. “With these Active-ism trips, we hope to raise awareness and foster discussion around the challenges facing U.S. national parks, while empowering travelers to advocate on their behalf and have the trip of a lifetime.”

This isn't the first time the tour operator reinforced its values often opposite of the Trump Administration: in March, following Trump's executive order ending Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs nationwide, Intrepid Travel chose to expand their DEI initiatives, promising to increase BIPOC, plus-size and disabled creator partnerships and brand visibility.
